I have the short engine back  a new clutch is fitted. The bottom end was good but the oil pump drive had almost lost its key and was near to failure. The engine is now complete with a 450w alternator kit a Siemens electronic ignition.kit a new starter and solenoid

Unfortunately the information with the alternator was very sketchy and coupled with the fact that my original wiring was an absolute mess and full of rusting components I am left with problems of how do the brushes connect, and what connections go to  the voltage regulator (always assuming I can define what the regulator should be).

My emails to the UK supplier have been ignored but I suppose it was too much to expect an e-mailed diagram. when I get the next chance I shall have to ring and see if I can glean some advice and scribble it down

Forums have been helpful, at least I know that brushes are used and most solid state regulators for an airhead will work
